Spring is car season!

Hello again-

Im from MN, and now that its nearly June, the weather is nice enough to pull the car out of the garage. Every spring, I get this sense of energy, like getting a new job..building something...fixing something..spending money on something new..(maybe a new aluminum radiator?!).

This year, I want to take the chance to get more involved with others out there who share this feeling with me. I would love to hear how you cure the spring fever with your car. For me, its buying 1 large upgrade, or Enhancement, as I like to say, per year (define large, right?!) for my car.

I know that many of you out there have other great stories or memories with your family and friends in your car. Maybe you bought it new off the show room floor. Maybe you experienced a first in that car- get your mind out of the gutter! Im talking a first speeding ticket....a first accident....you get the idea.

What I really love are the stories about keeping a car in the family for years and years, as passed down through a generation. Afterall...what may seem boring to you, may seem very cool to those of us who grew up in the "disposable" era, where cars are just an expense that is needed to get to work and back, or to soccer practice, or for groceries. Once it is paid off, you get rid of it and start over.
So, what I am asking for, is if you care to share your story, to send them to me at faust64@msn.com

If these cars could talk- Classic cars and the family history behind them.

Hi there, and thanks for looking at my blog. For starters, let me introduce myself...explain why I am writing this blog, and what I am asking for. (relax, I'm not asking for money!)

I am a classic car nut- nuff said? If you are anything like me, and your ears perk up anytime someone mentions "Ford......Chevy.....Pontiac.....Buick", then that simple phrase "I am a classic car nut", is enough to make you want to keep reading.

The next important thing to know about me, is that I'm not looking for money; only your interest in the subject of classic cars (or cars in general, as I'm not judgemental on the type or brand of car you prefer). I love telling the stories of how I came to own my car at age 15.....how I used to drive my 2 best friends (who were dating at the time) home after high school. One of those best friends eventually became my wife! (sorry for taking the girl, Whitey!)

Or maybe the "coolest" thing that happened, was after I walked down the aisle of my wedding, I walked outside the church, and saw my car sitting their all decorated with streamers and cans hanging from the rear bumper. This was a complete surprise to me, since the car had been in storage for many years prior to my wedding. Most surprising was that the last time I drove this car, it had the original 17o cu. in. 6 cylinder with a 3 on the tree. Now, unbeknownst to me, my dad was able to replace the worn out 6, with a 302 and automatic, dual exhaust and cherry bombs for the added rumble!!! Oh what a day that was. I got the girl and the car that I always wanted.

Anyhow, I could go on and on about the car. But for now, I did want to let you know why I'm writing this blog. I love telling my stories, and I love hearing similar stories from others even more. In upcoming blogs, I will let you know how to share those stories with me, and what I would like to do with the stories I receive.

most importantly, PLEASE COME BACK AND READ MY BLOG AGAIN SOON.
